"To go" Art Boxes

I have not seen some of the children I work with for over a week now. I miss having the opportunity to create, express and share our thoughts and feelings while we make our art together. In an effort to promote continued creative expression at home, I built these compact “To Go” art boxes for the children to take home and continue using their art making as an outlet. I’ve included an image of one of the boxes and some sample materials I might include. As art therapists, we are aware that different types of materials can elicit a range of emotions. I tried to include options for more tactile experiences ( model magic, clay) as well options for writing and drawing (glitter pens, pencils, notebooks). Each one is unique and built with the child’s individual interests in mind. These can easily be adapted by anyone who wants to make their own art treasure box at home!
